When the KKK Endorsed Candidate and Popular Vote Loser or any of his surrogates decide to brand reputable news organizations as "fake news," the other news organizations need to defend them, even to the point of deferring questions to the stigmatized organizations or repeating the questions their reporters were going to ask. Remember the saying about Holocaust Victims where the last people did not do anything because they came to the other groups first before taking them. That may be an applicable analogy here. We can not have a republic or democracy if our leaders launch unfounded attacks against reputable news organizations. The Press needs to stick together.
