This Luddite-Nativist-Reactionary attitude among Brexit Supporters in Britain and Trumpists in favor of withdrawing from the world (like the President getting out of the TPP, Paris Climate Agreement, Iran Nuclear Deal, and possibly N.A.T.O.) and keeping the government shut down in the United States for 25 days is handicapping the natural flow of progress and history. Globalization and Inclusiveness are facts of life. They provide many positive benefits to humanity. While it is true that people left behind economically need to be helped and taken care of, it is wrong to think that all would be well if we went backwards to a time when borders were sealed even at lawful points of entry, immigration restricted, and the spread of ideas and progress halted. Reactionism is wrong and this path to No Deal on Brexit and chaos in the United States will only hurt us and the rest of the world in the long run. This needs to stop now.
