Idea of the Week: Beating Trump-Pence-McConnell in 2020 with a viable Progressive Agenda

Democrats and Progressives have no time to lose. They need to lay the groundwork to keep the House in 2020, retake the Senate (by contesting Senators like Collins, Cotton, Earnest, and McConnell), and recapture the Presidency.

While selecting candidates for the Presidency and Vice Presidency (as well as the Senate and House seats) will be a major component in achieving these ends, it is also important that all sides of the progressive divide (centrist and liberal wing) bond together and come up with a program that attracts all communities in the country. This agenda should include: Medicaid expansion, full public education funding (which is still an issue,) free community college, expanding universal broadband in rural areas, green infrastructure job projects, an increase in science and technological research, development, and exploration, expanded childcare and pre-kindergarten, modernizing our infrastructure,  fair and free trade, prudent fiscal management, fighting dark money interests and protecting civil rights (including the right to vote), safety net reform (like raising the maximum in payroll tax contributions),  national service and active citizenship promoting public safety and border security.

These would be the ingredients for a winning and united progressive formula.  Let us get to work.
