The Dignity of the Presidency: one apparent good deed on DACA does not make up for the rest of today's behavior.

President Trump was at it again today, getting supporters to make false remarks about President Obama playing golf during Hurricane Sandy when he did not. He also repeated the false equivalency that the protestors fighting the White Supremacists and Nazi's in Charlottesville shared equal blame for the damage that came that day. He also took a dig at John McCain, the 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate fighting brain cancer for "changing" his vote on health care. However, what made today different was the Presidents moves on DACA towards the Democratic position which seemed to alienate him from the base that helped carry him to victory in the Rust Belt. While that apparent change in position is a welcome change for all people possessing decency and sanity, it does not take away the many other despicable acts the President commits (like the other one's today) to placate those very same groups. Upholding the dignity of the Presidency is a 24-hour job that can not be portioned off for sound bites to make the vermin that is your base happy.
