This is not a commentary on a political or economic event. This is a posting about the miracle of childbirth or more specifically the successful carrying of a 25-year-old embryo by a woman who, with her husband, adopted an embryo. Frozen embryos have been carried to term before but this is the first time one as old has made it through the whole gestation process. What is especially thought-provoking is that the mother and the frozen embryo were the same age when the process started. While events like this are fascinating and, in this case wonderful, it does make one pause about what new feats in biotechnology can achieve. It makes one think of classics like Brave New World
