No, the 2016 election did not put the Sexual Assault accusations against President Trump to rest
There is amazement that people on the political talk shows (including Senator-Elect Doug Jones) when asked about the sexual harassment and assault accusations leveled against President Trump comment that the 2016 Election showed that the people did not feel these matters warranted additional scrutiny. That is laughable for two reasons. First, most of the people spewing this current line of logic did not have that same view when Bill Clinton was President when similar (although not as many) accusations were raised. The second and most important reason is that most of the people who voted in the 2016 Presidential Election did feel the accusations had merit since the President lost the popular vote by a considerable margin. So no, the 2016 election did not put the sexual assault accusations against President Trump to rest.
