Call to Action: Do what the President (or his aides) write, not what he does.

Former Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama all participated in Martin Luther King events that included commemorating the man or performing acts of service. This President, whose relations, with most of the nonwhite population in this country, has sent the image and impression that he prefers to golf at one of his Trump resorts rather than help others. Given his comments and the past history of his charitable foundation, for example, it should be no surprise. The President even ignored the sentiments (probably prepared by aides instead of himself on this occasion)  expressed in his late morning tweet to serve others.

Like the holiday season, serving or helping others should be an annual consideration whether it is giving a dollar to the homeless man on the street or donating to organizations like Meals on Wheels or donating toys, books, food, and clothes for the needy at service entities like the Salvation Army. People should practice what the President (or his aides) wrote today, not the example he leads on, unfortunately, a daily basis.
