Senator Brian Schatz has an interesting proposal to help middle and lower class families send their children to college for free. However, Senator Schatz's proposal has a means test that would leave the wealthy in the cold for paying the tuition for their kids. Means Testing may be applicable to say taxation or how much social security one should get. However, it should not be appropriate to charge people for college tuition or health care for that matter based on what people can afford. Access to education and healthcare should be free for everyone regardless of their station in life. This should be a no-brainer.
