Another article on the post presidency of Jimmy Carter: Many would prefer his Presidency to the KKK endorsed candidates today.

Still going strong at 93, Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalyn personify what the American Spirit should all be about. While his Presidency is not  regarded as one of the best in United States History, it did see the creation of over ten million jobs, peace between Israel and Egypt, the Panama Canal Treaty, the conclusion of the recognition of the Peoples Republic of China, and the first serious attempt at addressing our energy and environmental concerns. In his post Presidency, the Carters have spent their lives at building homes for poor people through Habitat for Humanity and launching/ monitoring peace and democracy initiatives around the world. They also live modestly. Most can probably safely say they would take his Presidency (even with the extreme micromanaging and arm's length relationship with their own Congressional allies) over the current KKK endorsed candidates one. Does anyone think the popular vote loser will spend time building houses for the poor when he leaves (hopefully on January 20, 2001)? Probably not.
