"Everybody Needs to Wake Up: The Occupant of the Oval Office Is Ignorant to the Constitution and Has No Regard for the Rule of Law"
In a stinging rebuke of the belligerent words and the inept and undoubtedly illegal actions of Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, fresh off appearing on NBC and CNN Sunday morning political talk shows, held a news conference in Washington, D.C..
During the conference, Senator Kelly ably outlined all the ways Mr. Trump had continued his habit of destroying everything he touches, from his failed business ventures, including bankrupting a casino, to using intimidation to steamroll his ill-advised policies like tariffs and health care price hikes that are destroying the American People and the Nation's economy.
He also compared his record of service to Trump's record of failures and spewing false conspiracy theories.
He also explained how Trump should have simply said "of course" in reaction to the video Senator Kelly and five other members of Congress released a couple of weeks ago, where they urged members of the active military not to obey an illegal order, instead of threatening to arrest and hang all of the people who appeared on the social media post.
In his comments before taking questions, Senator Kelly said:
"...The President has gone too far. Everybody needs to wake up. The occupant of the Oval Office Is Ignorant to the Constitution and Has No Regard for the Rule of Law. Trying to silence me in proposing to court-martial me and threatening to kill me for fighting back when our Democracy demands that we must fight back. President Trump has crossed the line, and this time, it's not going to work. I will not be intimidated by this President. I am not going to be silenced by this President or the people around them. I've given too much in service to this country to back down to this guy...They aren't going to keep me from speaking out. And they're not going to keep me from doing my job. Enough of the bullying. Enough of the intimidation. Enough of the threats. Enough of your nonsense. Doesn't help anyone in the country afford their groceries or pay their medical bills. And it erodes the rights of every American..."
During the question and answer session, the Senator chastised the unqualified and incompetent Hegseth for his role in ordering the deaths of survivors of a boat the United States bombed for dubious reasons, equating him to "A twelve-year-old on stage that plays army."
He also challenged Trump's reasoning to use the military to effect regime change with Maduro in Venezuela, while he just pardoned the former President of Honduras and released him from an American prison for the very drug trafficking that Maduro is accused of doing.
Again, this is how it is done.

Any Lucia Belloza, a 19-year-old college freshman at Babson College who has been in the United States since she was seven, wanted to surprise her family with a visit to their home in Texas this Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, the surprise became horrific when Lucia Belloza was detained by border officials before boarding her flight to Texas, arrested, chained and shackled, dragged out of the airport, and, despite a judge's order, deported to Honduras, the country of her birth.
Her crime.
Based on reporting from CNN, Lucia Belloza has had, according to Homeland Security, a deportation order since she was eight years old.
This is a college freshman who has no criminal record and had no idea what was going on when she was detained.
According to CNN, Homeland Security said Lucia Belloza "received due process" before being deported.
Why is that hard to believe when a judge told the government not to deport her, and Homeland Security again disobeyed a jurist's order?
With this logic and low bar, 34-time convicted Donald Trump and his White Nationalist minions like Tom 'I want $50,000 for access' Hohman should have been exiled years ago.
With this logic, the former Honduran 'Drug Trafficking' President should never have received a pardon from Mr. Trump.
Lucia Belloza's attorney said they will fight to bring her back into the United States.
This is the latest example of Donald Trump's and his White Nationalist Project 2025 Apostates' reign of terror on innocent people by denying them due process, treating them like animals, and shrouding this country in their dark white's only vision for the country.
Last week, the New York Times reported that the Trump Gestapo division was pulling green card applicants, including spouses of American military personnel, out of court to start deportation proceedings even though they did nothing wrong and were following the law.

When he was not dozing off as his sycophant...cabinet members heaped praise on him for stopping hurricanes and cutting SNAP payments to poor children, Donald Trump spent his waking moments at the event calling Somali immigrants in Minnesota "garbage," defended his bloodthirsty war criminal Pete Hegesth's involvement in the illegal bombing of survivors from this country's attack on an as yet unproven drug boat while feigning ignorance, and said that the affordabilirty crisis that helped sway uninformed voters to support his return to the White House with his promise to lower prices on day one, a "con job and scam by the Democrats."
Among the Know Nothing-Serial Liars comments were:
"The word affordability is a con job by the Democrats...Their prices were much higher. Electricity's coming down, and when that comes down, everything comes down. But the word affordability is a Democrat scam...They had the worst inflation in the history of the country. Now, some people will correct me because they always love to correct me, even though I'm right about everything. But some people like to correct me. And they say, 48 years, I say, it's not 48 years... But whether it's 48 years or ever, it's pretty bad. We had the worst inflation that we've ever had. Since last January, we stopped inflation in its tracks..."
Yesterday, at a meeting of auto manufacturers where Mr. Trump further eroded United States' automotive competitiveness by relaxing fuel standards and giving more of the electric, clean-energy car market to the Chinese, he called the Democrats fixation on affordability "a hoax."
Everything Mr. Trump said in the above quotes was lies and misinformation.
Reporting shows energy prices are up 7.4 percent since last year.
Food costs are up 2.7 percent since last year.
The chart below shows that after inflation went down considerably under the Biden/Harris Administration after a spike to about nine percent in 2022, it has started to tick up again, thanks to Trump's reckless tariff policies.

While Trump's remarks were filled with his usual unhinged nonsense, this latest gaffe on affordability and the economy is also perhaps the political gift that may deliver victory to the Democrats in the 2026 midterms.
Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego put it very well and concisely with the below social media post that could make a very nice sound bite in a political campaign ad.
"Trump says affordability is a hoax. Tell that to the families staring at electric bills that look like mortgage payments."
Representative Greg Stanton posted:
"Fighting for affordable health care, groceries, energy, and housing isn’t a “con job," it’s what is owed to American families in this time of uncertainty. Trump should work with us instead of denying that affordability is an issue."
He also posted this on-point poster from Representative Peter Aguilar that could make a good ad this time of year.
Arizona Democratic House Leader Oscar De Los Santos posted:
Democrats need to definitely incorporate this gaffe into their social media and voter outreach efforts as the 2026 campaign heats up.
