It is time to think about expanding the size of the courts to rectify the abuses of the minority.

If Democrats regain control of the Senate this year and the Presidency two years later, it would be time to think about expanding the size of the courts to rectify the abuses of the minority.

When faced with continued court opposition to his New Deal Program, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt considered expanding the Supreme Court. There was great opposition in the Congress and Roosevelt dropped the attempt after the Court started ruling for him.

Republican obstructionism thanks largely to obstructionist in chief and traitor Mitch McConnell (when he stole the Supreme Court seat meant for Merrick Garland and helped collude with Russia by not joining President Obama in denouncing Russian Meddling) has led to bad behavior being rewarded when the KKK endorsed candidate and popular vote loser President nominated many conservative judges, some of whom do not belong anywhere near a federal bench, that was confirmed (some by the slimmest of margins) by the United States Senate.

The recent rulings of the Supreme Court, with Justice Gorusch instead of Justice Garland, have tipped the scales to a Gilded Age mentality when voting rights were left to the states, monopolies can be encouraged, people can practice bigotry by claiming their right to morally object, employers can force employees into employer controlled arbitration, and very likely (we will know by tomorrow) the power of unions will be curbed. Even today's ruling on the KKK endorsed candidate and popular vote losers travel ban invites future attempts at isolating and discriminating against non white groups because of the persona of the occupant of the White House.  This is a descent to oligarchy and plutocracy that most of the country does not favor.

In order to correct the abuses of this reactionary judicial period, Democrats should strongly consider increasing the sizes of the federal courts, including the Supreme Court so the will of the majority and the sentiment of the times are reflected when they regain the Senate and the Presidency. It is radical but the country has been enduring radical behavior by the ultra conservatives for several years now and it is time to swing the pendulum back to normalcy.
