Idea of the Week: Building Flexible Progressivism from the Ground Up

This is a followup to similar posts.

The midterm results demonstrate that for Progressivism to fully succeed and sustain itself, it must be vibrant and flexible from the ground up from the smallest city council in the smallest town to the Oval Office with progressive programs customized to the local environment. That flexible form of progressivism that adapts to its surroundings is the best way to move the country forward on a consistent basis.

Montesquieu once wrote that laws should be partially based on the local traditions and customs of the local area. That rationale also applies to the application of progressivism. What works in Los Angeles or New York City may not work in Mesa, Arizona or Elkhart, Indiana. What works in the suburbs of Denver may not be applicable to the suburbs of Fairbanks.

For progressivism to succeed in the long term, it must take into account the local communities that will need to implement it.
