The Biden/Harris Administration Releases a Plan to Vaccinate the Nation's Five to Eleven Year Old Children

The Biden/Harris Administration has released its plan to vaccinate the Nations' five to eleven-year-old children.

Stating that the commencement of the vaccination drive for young children will depend on the approval of guidelines from the Federal Drug and Food Administration (F.D.A.) and the Center for Disease Control (C.D.C.,) the Biden/Harris Administration relayed that this effort, like the one to vaccinate those aged 12 or older will be a joint public-private sector effort.

The major features of the plan are as follows:

  • There is enough supply of the Pfizer Vaccine to vaccinate all 28 million of the nation's five to eleven-year-old children.
  • The dosage of the vaccine will be adjusted to meet the needs of this specific demographic group.
  • Vaccines will be delivered to "25,000 Pediatrician and other primary care sites, 100 children's hospitals across the country, tens of thousands of pharmacies, and hundreds of schools and community clinics, hundreds of community health centers and rural health clinics."
  • An education outreach campaign to engage and convince the public about the need to vaccinate their young children.

In a presentation by the White House team on COVID 19, Dr. Anthony Fauci said:

“If we can get the overwhelming majority of those 28 million children vaccinated, I think that would play a major role in diminishing the spread of infection in the community. That’s one of the reasons why we want to do as best as we can to get those children 5 to 11 vaccinated.”

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman

Commenting on this positive development for America's youngest school children, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman relayed:

“I am encouraged by and fully support the White House plan to distribute vaccines to children aged 5-11 as soon as shots are available to that cohort. In order to end the pandemic and continue providing in-person learning, I highly encourage parents to vaccinate their children and talk to their pediatrician if they have any questions.”

This is a great day for the health and safety of children in the United States.

It would be wonderful if Arizona and America's youngest school children were fully vaccinated when they return from winter break in January 2022.
