The second season of Doctor Who with Ncuti Gatwa in the title role is one of the better ones in the last several years. Of course, people on the extreme right end of the political spectrum have taken issue with the direction of the show, first with the casting of the first female Doctor, Jodie Whittaker. Then with the casting of Mr. Gatwa, an openly gay black man. Then there has been criticism of some of the episodes as being too woke, too multicultural, and too historically accurate.
Right wing reactionary types probably had convulsions after hearing of the latest Doctor Who episode called "Lucky Day."
In it a podcaster spreads misinformation in order to boost his popularity from feeding on people's fears.
The confrontation between the Doctor and this podcaster, named Conrad, is another example of how science fiction writers and show runners use their programs to spread moral messages designed to make people think and build positive character.
In this scene, the Doctor chastises the podcaster, saying his and other broadcasters like him are:
"Noise. All day long, this relentless noise. Cowards like you, weaponizing lies, taking people's insecurity and fear and making it currency...You stamp on the truth, choke our bandwidth, and shred our patience because the only strategy you have is to wear us down."
