The Last Election Proves the Point "Those Who Do Not Learn From History Are Doomed to Repeat It"
It is quite evident that voters in this last election, both Trump ones and those who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 but either switched their vote or did not show up for Kamala Harris did not learn from or remember the history of the last eight years.
They did not learn or remember what happened on January 6, 2021.
They did not learn from what happens when Presidents make consequential nominations to the United States Supreme Court and lower federal benches that affect women's lives.
They did not learn or remember from the experiences of the COVID 19 Pandemic when the Trump Administration, aside from Operation Warp Speed, botched the response, causing the deaths of thousands of Americans and the tanking of the United States economy.
They did not remember that the great majority of Mr. Trump's cabinet and staff, including his own Vice President did not support him in his 2024 run.
They did not remember that Mr. Trump and his MAGA lieutenants offered a cesspool of lies and misinformation including memorable ones like "Mexico will pay for the wall," "Inject bleach to ward off COVID," "There's good people on both sides," and "I have a health care plan that will be better than Obamacare."
They did not learn from Trump's two impeachments, 34 criminal convictions, 91 indictments, and judgements for sexual assault and failed business practices.
They did not learn and remember that Democrats have rescued the economy after Republican Presidents tanked it in 2008 and 2020.
They did not learn from or notice the economic recovery the Biden/Harris Administration launched that saved the country (record unemployment and jobs created, Bipartisan Infrastructure, a Manufacturing Renaissance, CHIPS Act, Reduced Drug Price for Seniors, Expansion of Internet to rural areas, removing lead pipes from impoverished neighborhoods, massive investments in Clean Energy, a Record number of women and minority judicial appointments to the federal bench) and made the United States the envy of the world.
They did not learn or remember that Republicans, four times, over the last 18 years, have stymied bipartisan immigration reform causing the problem to fester.
They did not learn or notice that in many of Joe Biden's and Kamala Harris's economic speeches that they understood that inflation was causing hardship and they had plans (like universal pre-k, free community college, free school lunches, expanded child tax credit, extending the prescription drug benefit, paid family and medical leave) to help combat it that Republicans and Conservative Democrat Joe Manchin resisted.
They did not learn or notice when Bill Clinton, at the Democratic National Convention, told the audience that the Democratic Presidents advantage in Job Creation since 1989 was 50 million in the Clinton, Obama, and Biden years to one.in the Bush I, Bush II, and Trump eras.
There is a reason Donald Trump said this in 2016.

Mr. Trump's re-election and the election of those who subscribe to his beliefs is further proof of the need for more history, government, and economics education in the nation's schools.
All high schoolers should have four years of history education along with a year in both government and economics.
Children should be taught to beware of Fascist Demagogues who scapegoat others, engage in false advertising, and promise the moon of prosperity without actually delivering.
The old saying, attributed to several, of "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it" is on point after the elections.
The voters in Tuesday's election just proved that adage true.
Hopefully, American resilience can overcome the doom the majority of the people, who did not learn or remember history, may have set us on the path towards.
Republicans Now Claim to be the Party of the Working Class; Time to Put Their Policies Where Their Mouths Are
In the recent election, many working class voters shifted their votes to the Trump/Vance ticket with the belief that their positions were more aligned with theirs.
It is now time for Trump/Vance to present their agenda for working class voters that will help lift them up.
Will it include:
- A rise in the federal minimum wage?
- Paid family and medical leave?
- An expansion of the Earned Income and Child Tax Credits?
- A doubling of apprenticeships for good paying blue and green collar jobs.?
- Plans to make housing affordable?
- Stimulus for small business start ups?
- Increased Tax Credits or other funding to send children to child care or pre-school?
- An increase in Pell Grants?
- Going after price gougers engaged in massive corporate greed?
- Expanding the prescription drug benefit to non seniors.
During the campaign, the Trump/Vance ticket, outside of a call to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime (which honestly probably had a lot of appeal,) did not present an agenda for working class people.
It is time for Trump/Vance and those Republicans that subscribe to be for the working class to present their agenda, in addition to their tax ideas, to help them.
it is time to put their policies where their mouths are and deliver for the people that put their trust in them.
Let us see if they deliver.
What the Hell? Americans Return a Twice Impeached-Convicted Felon to the White House Over the Price of Bread
Hi Everyone. I do not know exactly what to say about last night's elections results. I am astounded that millions of people, acting like modern Judases, potentially sold out the nation's Democracy over the price of bread, including millions who the now President-Elect's and his surrogates called "trash" and "garbage." Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (who, unlike her opponent, ran, in my opinion, an excellent and near flawless campaign) did great service to this country delivering valuable investments for the people like reduced drug costs and vital infrastructure. And millions of people rewarded that service by bringing back a convicted felon, twice impeached, adjudicated rapist and failed first term President who mismanaged a global pandemic and tried to stage a coup when he lost. Talk about rewarding bad behavior.
Great thinking PEOPLE. Like Barack Obama said on the campaign trail. "You really think Donald Trump cares about you."
They are probably about to find out the hard way again.
I will have more to write later.
Like the first Trump term, we will survive him again.
There are still outstanding Arizona contests that still may go Democrats way and voters should be cautiously hopeful that Democrats take the House of Representatives.
It is just amazing that so many people forgot last night what Mr. Trump is and what he did during his first term and afterward.
Shame on them.
It says a lot about the need to have more history, government, and economics education in our public schools.
God save the Republic.
Bless this nation and help us get through these next four years.

People Need to Remember Which Candidate Left the Country in Worse Shape and Which One was Part of An Administration That Bettered It
With three days to go until the election, the immortalized Reagan question everyone who has not voted should ask is "Are we better off now than we were four years ago?"
The answer should be a resounding "yes."
Remember this cover from Time Magazine? It shows the Biden/Harris Administration taking over the train wreck left behind by the Trump/Pence team.

The Coronavirus was still raging. Many schools and businesses were shut. People were afraid to venture outside. Trump was making the situation worse with his nonsensical views on combatting the pandemic by injecting bleach in the arm and wearing masks did not matter.
Of course, Trump proved how wrong he was by getting COVID-19.
Then there was the tanking of the economy thanks in part to Trump's mismanagement of the pandemic. Remember his team left with the worst job creation record since Herbert Hoover.
There was the threat to Democracy enabled by Trump and his MAGA minions with their constant Big Election Lies following the 2020 Presidential Elections which culminated in the Trump-enabled Domestic Terrorist Insurrection Attack on the Nation's Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Like the phrase "Remember the Alamo," people need to "Remember January 6" and the people/traitors who made that happen.
Finally, they need to remember that it was Donald Trump who left the judicial ticking time bomb on the Supreme Court to jettison women's reproductive freedom with his three Justice nominations that provided the margin to overturn Roe v Wade.
They also need to remember how Biden/Harris successfully batted down the Coronavirus despite Trump and MAGA naysayers.
They need to remember that the Biden/Harris Administration and their allies in Congress made investments in the American Future and People through the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act that have moved the country forward, created record job growth to the tune of 16 million new jobs, expanded the health care markets, funded schools and law enforcement, reduced drug prices like those on insulin for seniors, invested in clean energy strategies and green collar jobs, and lifted people, including children, out of poverty.
Overall, they need to remember that the Biden/Harris Economy is better than the Trump/Pence one.
People need to remember that Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson would like to do away with many of the Biden/Harris Legislative achievements cited above.
The Misery Index (the unemployment plus inflation rates) at the end of the Trump Administration was 8.6 percent. It is currently 6.79 percent under the Biden/Harris one.
If a case can be made for It's Morning in America again, both the Biden/Harris Administration and the Harris/Walz Campaign can make it.
On the issue of inflation that the Trump/Vance ticket blames solely on Biden and Harris, those assertions like virtually all of the Liar in Chiefs statements, have been repeatedly debunked and a case can be made, like the one made by former President Bill Clinton, that Trump's mismanagement of the pandemic coupled with the supply chain issues at the height of the Coronavirus also fueled the rise in inflation along with Putin's Invasion of Ukraine and corporate greed among this nation's plutocrats.
People also need to remember that Donald Trump and Republicans again killed Bipartisan Border Security and Immigration Reform. They did it in the Bush II Administration. They did it in the Obama Administration. They did not do it in the Trump years and they sabotaged it repeatedly during the Biden/Harris term.
People need to remember that Trump and Republicans do not want to solve immigration. They want the issue to instill fear in the people.
How patriotic is that?
Crime was also up at the end of the Trump years compared to the Biden period.
People need to remember.
Finally, people need to remember when voting, the character and position of the candidates when making their choices.
They need to ask themselves:
- Which candidate took away women's national right to reproductive freedom and made their own healthcare choices?
- Which candidate is the convicted felon?
- Which candidate is the one that tried to overturn an election?
- Which candidate is the one who has been impeached twice?
- Which candidate is the one not supported by his first Vice Presidential choice and most of his first term team.
- Which candidate is the adjudicated rapist?
- Which candidate is the failed businessman who actually bankrupted a casino?
- Which candidate is the one that, as Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said, constantly "Shit talking America."
- Which political party whose candidates down the ballot are blindly following the above candidate?
- Which candidate and political party wants to undo the bulk of the legislative progress made over the last three and a half years?
Newsflash: It is not Kamala Harris and the Democrats.
Remember just over the last month, Donald Trump has called the United States "The garbage can of the world," told hurricane victims to oppose FEMA efforts to help them, reportedly said "Hitler did good things," called his opponents "The Enemy Within," said he will protect women his way "whether they like it or not," called for the repeal of the CHIPS and Science Act," and proposed a nine-person firing squad for Liz Cheney.
And Republicans still drinking the election denying-white nationalist-anti moving America forward MAGA Kool-Aid running down-ballot races like Kari Lake in her Senate race against Ruben Gallego or Andy Biggs, Juan Ciscomani, David Schweikert, and Paul Gosar in their campaigns for Congress or Vince Leach and Mark Finchem in their quests to return to the Arizona State Legislature?
Unlike mainstream and reality-based Republicans like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Mesa Mayor John Giles, and former Senator Jeff Flake, people like Lake, Biggs, Ciscomani, Schweikert, Gosar, Leach, and Finchem are putting an election-denying cult over the nation. Trump over the needs of the American People. Regression over progression.
This is not the stuff people should want in their leaders and public servants.
People need to remember what it was like four years ago and how far the country has moved forward under the Biden/Harris Administration.
Donald Trump left the nation in the early morning hours of January 20, 2021, too cowardly to attend his successor's inauguration, worse off.
By virtually all measurable statistics, Joe Biden will be leaving the nation better off.
Vice President Harris is part of the Biden team and helped shape the policies that moved the country forward.
Unlike her unworthy opponent, she has a positive Opportunity economic agenda that will build on the successes of the Biden/Harris Administration that will chart a New Way Forward.
Economists have praised her economic plans and condemned her failed businessman opponents.
She believes in the "Promise of America" and will work to restore the national right for women to have reproductive freedom and make their own healthcare choices.
Vote for the Candidates and Party up and down the ballot who are part of the team that is bettering the Nation and has a plan to continue that progress.
