Very interesting proposal from Senators Kaine and Bennett and a Public Option through the Medicare program.

Progressives and Democrats need to continue telling the American People their proposals to help move the country forward in many areas. Several Democrats have come out with proposals for single payer in Medicare. Others want to build on Obamacare. This is where Senators Kaine and Bennett are going with their proposals to offer a public option through Medicare. It is a good sensible idea that could work and should merit discussion as Democrats campaign to take back the House, the Senate, and the White House. Of course, our great laboratories of Democracy in the state could offer their residents to buy into city and state health programs which would be a semi-public option. That would be a step in the right direction.
