Bad Behavior like harassment and sexual assault can never be condoned.
Inappropriate behavior, if confirmed, like harassment and sexual assault towards anyone in any way, shape, or form can never be condoned. It does not matter if it happened once or on many occasions. It does not matter if it occurred yesterday or decades ago. It does not matter on the level of severity. It does not matter if the person behaving inappropriately is from a specific race, religion, orientation, or political persuasion. Bad behavior must be forever condemned on all occasions. The consequences for poor behavior does depend on the severity of the act and its frequency. That is right and proper. But no one should excuse anyone for inappropriate behavior, including current and former occupants of the White House. Currently, we have two accusations of inappropriate behavior among political figures. Former State Supreme Court Justice and Senate Candidate Roy Moore is accused of having inappropriate behavior with several underage girls over the course of many years when he was in his 30's. There are even reports that he was banned from a shopping mall for this behavior. Former Saturday Night Live creator and Senator Al Franken committed an inappropriate act on a woman 11 years ago. Both political figures have reacted differently to these revelations. One is apologetic and willing to cooperate and undergo an ethics investigation by his colleagues in the Senate. The other is defiant and is blaming his accusers and the Senate Republican Leadership for his problems, shielding himself in his devout version of "Christianity." It is up to the people to decide what fate these two should receive for the bad acts they have committed. Hopefully, the people will send a just and fair signal that these two will hear and heed.
