Children on the Children's Health Insurance Program (C.H.I.P.) and their families should not go through the holidays with the uncertainty of whether or not they will be covered if God forbid something happens to them that requires medical attention.
Democrats should shut down the government on Friday if they can not get funding for C.H.I.P. When Republicans shut down the government in 1995 and 2013, they were rightly blamed because they did it for the wrong priorities, mainly not wanting to adequately fund priorities the American People championed. This time though, the Democrats have the priorities on their sides. What majority of the country would be against helping poor children? If there is such a majority, then let Trump, Ryan, and McConnell have it and we will move.
