Late last week, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant, staffed by many supporters of the LGBTQ community because she worked in the Trump Administration. Earlier that week both Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson and Trump Immigration Enforcer Stephen Miller were heckled by groups of people while they both frequented two Mexican Food Resturants. While the choice of restaurants by these three individuals shows a clear lack of common sense bordering on dense stupidity given recent current events, the words of Michelle Obama are especially pertinent today than the days she spoke them at the Democratic National Convention: "When they go low, we go high." There are a time and a place to vigorously debate with those that we have opposing views on. Heckling them and asking them to leave public restaurants are not one of them. We are better than that and this just gives them ammunition on their side. We must make the most of the stupidity and reactionary viewpoints of our opponents, not waste them away.
