A few quick morning comments.

1) The tributes for Senator McCain have been longer and more heartfelt from Democrats than the popular vote loser in the White House who had the gall to not praise the late Senators heroism and service and move the flag from half-staff at the White House.

2) There is a poll that shows the Republicans have a lead with regards to handling the economy. The question is how. This is still pretty much Obama's economy on autopilot and the tax cuts (while providing a sugar rush) have exploded the budget deficit without providing meaningful investments in infrastructure.

3) There are reports that there is a preliminary agreement between Mexico and the United States on a revision of N.A.F.T.A. While this still needs approval from both Canada and Congress, it will be interesting to see what the details are and if the KKK endorsed candidate was able to persuade Mexico to pay for the wall. DEMOCRATS SHOULD RAIL THAT TRUMP IS WEAK FOR NOT GETTING MEXICO TO PAY FOR THE WALL LIKE HE PROMISED.

  1. The fact that Trump supporters credit him for the state of the economy is not surprising. Their willingness to accept any claim he makes, regardless of how easily refuted, has become quite predictable. After all, if you are willing to ignore photographic evidence about crowd size and think there is a child sex-slave ring operating out of a nonexistent basement of a pizzeria, crediting him with the health of the economy is an easy next step!
