The below article is a couple of months old but it is striking that the political party that began partially as a movement to rid the country of slavery and the party that started the age of progressivism can boast that nearly half of its members side with the KKK candidate that the press is the enemy of the people and that the popular vote loser should have the power to close newspapers for bad behavior. May God have mercy on us if these people have their way. One of our most cherished freedoms is freedom of the press. No individual or government should have the power to put constraints on that. This is yet another example of how far out of the mainstream the Republican Party has become and how the influence of the Demagogue in Chief has shaped his coalition for the worse. People need to turn out in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and send this person and supporters back to one of his golf resorts.
