Progressive Bull Moose: When was the last time an incumbent President had three reputable people challenge him for the nomination? Lyndon Johnson had two and he dropped out of the 1968 race. Jimmy Carter had two and he lost his bid for reelection. Hopefully, history will repeat itself in 2020.
