Bravo Jerry Nadler

On Thursday, House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee said they would probably be done offering amendments to the impeachment articles by about 5:00 p.m.

They wanted to go to a White House Christmas Party.
Then, as recounted by Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, Ranking Member Doug Collins told everyone that they had more amendments/points to make, saying that “if we have to fact-check you all night, we will.”
This move by the Cult of Trump was designed to force Democrats to hold the votes on the Articles of Impeachment in the middle of the night when most of the country’s citizens were sleeping.

This, the Fringe Right subscribers hoped, would give them a talking point that Democrats were so scared of the voters that they had to vote when everyone was not watching television.
As the clock went past 11:00 p.m. (Washington D.C. time) came, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler performed a political savvy and brilliant act.
After making sure that no more amendments or points of order would be offered by the Trumpists, Nadler recessed the committee until 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
Suffice it to say, Collins and the other Republicans (including Arizona’s fringe Debbie Lesko and Andy Biggs) went ballistic after having their Blackshirt tactics turned back on them.
Collins comments, see below, after the hearing was, to coin the Mastercard commercials, “priceless:”
When the committee resumed their consideration of the Impeachment articles at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, the vote took less than ten minutes and Donald Trump became the fourth President to face Articles of Impeachment before the House of Representatives.
Bravo Jerry Nadler.
He showed Democrats and others how to fight reactionary fringe cultist bullies and turn the tables on them.

Democrats should remember this episode, learn from it, and do not forget it.
