Voters need to pay attention to these races just as much as the Presidential and Congressional ones. The public servants who are in the State Legislature and the Corporation Commission affect the everyday lives of every Arizona resident either by determining how much money school gets, setting rates for utility companies, and developing the criteria to qualify for programs like Medicaid. They also serve as developing public servants that will run for higher office.
