Kevin McCarthy is Repulsive

Photo from CNN.

Kevin McCarthy thinks he is funny.

He is not.

He is repulsive and a scum.

Over the last eight months, he has taken himself and his party firmly into the Trump Zone in a self-serving attempt and Faustian Bargain to consolidate support among the fringe cult residents in that alternative universe in order to advance his power-hungry designs to become the next Speaker.

To demonstrate his allegiance to that fringe base, he has acquiesced in not supporting the creation of a January 6 Commission, spread baseless accusations blaming Nancy Pelosi for January 6, 2021, enabled the fanatics in his caucus by removing Liz Cheney from the number three leadership spot, championed the racist opposition to critical race theory, and put his voters in danger by minimizing the severity of the Delta variant of the Coronavirus these last several weeks by not wanting to wear a mask on the House floor.

In his war with Pelosi, the former Party of Lincoln leader, in a poor attempt at humor told an assemblage of Tennessee Republicans that if he became the new Speaker in 2023, he might hit his predecessor with the Speaker's gavel, saying  "I want you to watch Nancy Pelosi hand me that gavel. It will be hard not to hit her with it."

Now to be fair, the Speaker did call Mr. McCarthy a "moron"  last week for his opposition to wearing masks on the House floor.

McCarthy's comments however called for violence against another human being and it did not take long for Democrats to condemn him for his moronic and repulsive remarks.

Drew Hamil, Speaker Pelosi's chief of staff stated:

"A threat of violence to someone who was a target of a #January6th assassination attempt from your fellow Trump supporters is irresponsible and disgusting."

One of the Democratic House Leaders, Hakeen Jeffries posted on social media "violence against women is no laughing matter."

California Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell posted: "America has suffered enough violence around politics. @GOPLeader McCarthy is now a would-be assailant of @SpeakerPelosi."

Another California Democrat Ted Lieu wrote: "Don't you think America has had enough political violence? You should never be encouraging or threatening or joking about causing violence to anyone, including the Speaker of the House. You need to apologize for your statement, or resign."

It should be noted that McCarthy was one of only 30 Republicans to vote against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.

Going into the 2022 Midterms, Democrats will not be short on opposition ad material against McCarthy and his band of Know-Nothing Reactionaries and Insurrectionist Enablers.

There should be ads showing tying some Republicans to encouraging, helping, and avoiding responsibility for January 6, 2021.

There should be ads showing Republican candidates whose position on COVID 19 led to the hospitalization and deaths of thousands of Americans.

There should be ads showing Republicans voting against reducing child poverty in half and sending stimulus checks to hard-working Americans.

There should be ads showing Republicans working to suppress your right to vote.

There should be ads showing scum Kevin McCarthy threatening violence on Nancy Pelosi.

Those ads write themselves and Democrats should be able to turn out voters en masse to repel McCarthy and his fringe Trump Zone minions at the ballot box 2022.
