Please watch the Super Bowl Commercial Harrison Ford did for Jeep.
The viewer can decide for herself or himself if there are hidden messages in the piece, but there are some items to point out and quotes to cite.
- The commercial starts off with the flag majestically flying over the American Landscape. The flag appears again in the commercial.
- The house with a blazing fireplace and dog represents what most Americans want in a residence.
- He has an electric vehicle and a charging station at the house which points out the future of auto energy consumption
Among Ford's notable quotes are:
- "The longest thing we do is live our lives. But life doesn't come with an owner's manual."
- "We get to write our own stories."
- "Freedom is yes or no or maybe."
- "Freedom is for everybody. But it isn't free. it's earned."
- "There are real heroes in the world but not the ones in the movies."
- "Real heroes are humble. They're not driven by pride. Pride is a terrible driver." I wonder who he and the scriptwriter were thinking about there.
- "Freedom is the ability to inspire."
- "The most sacred thing in life isn't the path. It's the freedom to choose it."
- "You don't have to be friends with someone to wave at them."
- "We won't always agree on which way to go. But our differences can be our strength." Wonder who he or the scriptwriter was thinking about there.
- "Choose, but choose wisely" as he is taking his JEEP off the electric vehicle charger. It is also a line from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Democrats would do well to take notes from this commercial when they develop ads to improve their communications, outreach, and messaging operations when they reach out to people across the country.
