The President decided to rescind the invitation to the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles because some of the players planned to not attend as a demonstration in opposing the President's stance on kneeling during the National Anthem just before the start of football games.
There is a time and a place to address this issue. A national ceremony at the White House is not that time or place. The people expect everyone to attend these events, acting like adults, not juvenile children upset at not getting what they want for supper.
The Players should have put their feelings aside and just gone to the ceremony. The President should be Presidential and just saluted the team's accomplishment last January without making any fuss.
That is what adults do.
