Some of the Latest Great Ads from The Lincoln Project

 Dear  Readers

I know it has been a while since I have written a piece conveying the latest riveting ads from The Lincoln Project.

Until now.

Over the last week, the Lincoln Project has released three ads going after the Republican Tax Plan that would hurt the American middle and working classes, their Nazi-Like attempts to ban and, in some cases, burn books, and a reminder that the current incarnation of the Republican party are nothing but a compilation of crazy individuals, misfits, criminals, charlatans, and ignorant bigots that are too dangerous to be entrusted with power.

In the ad, "Two Plans," the Lincoln Project, like a later DNC ad that the Blog earlier reported on, called this 2022 election "a simple choice" and reminds the voters that the Republican Tax Plan offered by Florida Senator Rick Scott would place a heavier tax burden on the poor and middle classes while President Biden and Democrats plan would require the wealthy to pay more into federal coffers. The ad concludes with the narrator saying "A simple choice: Republicans: you'll pay more in taxes. Democrats: you'll pay less."

The next ad, called "Bon Fire," The Lincoln Project equates Republican attempts, like Florida Governor's Ron DeSantis, to ban and, in some cases, burn books, as being eerily reminiscent of the first steps the Nazi's took to indoctrinate their people to their fascist and racist philosophies.

Saying "the freedom to learn, the freedom to explore, the freedom to challenge yourself, and your beliefs, as authoritarian radicals tear books off the shelves in schools and local libraries, those freedoms are under attack," the narrator in this ad further states "school children told they can't read about Martin Luther King, about slavery, about the Holocaust." The narrator goes on (with pictures of Nazi book rallies in the background,) saying, "they aren't the first to pull books off the shelves and shovel them onto fires," equating these fringe Republican efforts with the Nazis and current authoritarian efforts in China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.

The narrator concludes: "This is where it starts. Every time. It's up to us how it ends."

The final ad, titled "The Crazy Ones" rightfully designates Republican individuals and groups like Kevin McCarthy, Sarah Palin, Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Stephen Bannon, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Josh Hawley, Rand Paul. Lyndsey Graham, and the January 6 insurrectionists as "the misfits, the screamers, the criminals, the carnival barkers and their loyal clowns, and people who don't like differences" who "hate the rules and have no respect for you (the American People/Voter."

Saying they can not be reasoned with and "they glorify villains and vilify heroes," the narrator advises the people not to ignore these people because "they have a plan to push America backwards and while some people may see them as crazy, we know they're dangerous because if we don't fight, people who think they are crazy enough to think they can stop progress will."

Voters need to turn out this November and select the candidates that will not tax the disadvantaged, burn and ban books, and pledge to turn the clock back on the American Ideal and Democracy.
