With the Baker, the Court may have opened up Pandoras Box

With the narrow ruling in favor of the baker who did not want to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, the Supreme Court, in trying to confine the issue to this one instance, may have inadvertently opened the door for more challenges.

That is not to say it would not have happened anyway but with this ruling in the spotlight, there will be more groups which both sides embrace and detest (Ultra Conservative and Liberal Faith Groups, White Supremacists and other Identity Groups) who may want to take the legal process for a spin in seeking relief from individuals or businesses who would prefer not to serve them.

Unfortunately, we come to the classic debates of "what constitutes hate speech and conduct, " "freedoms of expression and choice" and more to the point, "do even those distinctions matter in the eyes of Constitutional Interpretation?"

In this divided country where the fringes of our society enjoy trying to push the envelope and divide us further, let us pray that the Justices on the Supreme and lower courts will not take the bait and refer these matters, if possible, to legal mediated arbitration on a case by case basis so it does not engulf the nation
