We need to understand that Globalism and Internationalism are here to stay.

First, there were small human hunter-gatherer communities.

Then, there were city-states that included these smaller communities.

Then there were states that developed that included the city-states within its boundaries based in part on either, nationalism, history, culture, language, and geography.

Then larger entities that included the states and the city-states developed. You find this in most of the boundaries of our current developed nations. Trace the historical evolution of these countries and you find that they developed mostly along these lines.

Over the last 100 years with advances in transportation, communication, and the human spirit, globalism, regionalism, and supranationalism have taken hold. We have the European Community. We have (for now) N.A.F.T.A. We have the United Nations, International Court, and the World Bank.

We are no longer a world where we can confine all economic, social, political, and cultural activities within one's national boundaries. It is not possible despite the popular vote losers proclamations, to laughter at the United Nations General Assembly.

It is not the way forward.
