Another school shooting but we do not need gun control against criminals or the insane
Another sad day because of another school shooting in San Bernardino which has seen its share of horrific gun violence over the last year and a half. Gun Rights advocates in Congress (both Republican and Democrat) have to shake the stranglehold of the National Rifle Association and pass sensible gun control laws that restrict the gun purchase and access for people who are either a criminal or insane. If we register our cars, we should register our weapons. If we need to have a license to drive a vehicle, we should have a license that shows we can properly use a weapon. If we need to undergo background checks for jobs, we should need to undergo background checks at licensed and unlicensed gun dealers before being able to buy a weapon.
No one is saying that people should not be allowed to buy guns. No one is saying that even with all gun control proposals being enacted that someone would not slip through the net. What people are saying is that appropriate safety measures need to be in place so there are hopefully no more Newtowns, Columbines, and San Bernardinos. This is not rocket science.
