A potentially bad day for Democracy in Turkey

It appears in a very close election that the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan sponsored, many checks in the Turkish Democracy will be transferred to President Erdogan who wants to remain President until 2029. This can be potentially a bad sign for democracy as more power is transferred to a stronger executive with not as many checks on that office's power. A similar occurrence happened with Putin in Russia and people know what has happened there.
