Follow Up on last nights SNL Post: The President and the Truth
During the campaign, the President said that he would label China a currency manipulator. Today, he confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that he would not.
Yesterday, the President said he was responsible for creating 600,000 new jobs since becoming President. There are two problems with that statement. First, it was only 533,000 jobs (and the report for March showed less than 100,000). Second, the report for January was based on data compiled during the last month of the Obama Presidency.
Over the last couple of weeks, the President said that he thinks former National Security Advisor Susan Rice committed a crime by following up on an intelligence report. There is no evidence of a crime being committed and this has been verified by members of both political parties.
These three recent examples add to the many "inaccurate" statements the President has made both as a candidate and in his close to three months as our President. The below link highlights an article from Chris Cilliza as he reminded readers of the Presidents aversion to most things true and factual.
As a follow-up to last night's post commenting on the validity of last weeks Alec Baldwin opening comedy sketch on Saturday Night Live, Trump supporters still believe a large portion of what the President says. Not trying to be disrespectful but when that happens, it is not surprising that opponents of President Trump feel that his supporters need to be taken in hand and gently led to see the light of truth.
