Mitch McConnell: A person who does not have the people's interests at heart.

Expanding on a post from yesterday, this editorial in the New York Times recounts the antics of Mitch McConnell as his politics of obstruction during the Obama Administration caused Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to invoke the nuclear option for all non-Supreme Court Obama government and court nominees. This is the same Mitch McConnell who was the architect behind appealing the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Law to the courts culminating in the Citizens United 5-4 ruling. This the same Mitch McConnell who lacked the decency to hold even a hearing for President Obama's nominee to replace Anton Scalia, Merrick Garland. This is the person who is living proof that bad deeds do get rewarded as he is about to invoke the nuclear option on Supreme Court Nominees. Senate Majority Leader McConnell, like his predecessor Bob Dole who was equally obstructionist during the Clinton Administration, only has his rich friends' interests at heart. He does not have the people's interests at heart. Hopefully, a strong Democrat can expose his liabilities in the election of 2000. Hopefully, Senators like Ted Cruz will be defeated in the election of 2018 so McConnell is no longer the majority leader. Senators are public servants not servants for the privileged. Senator McConnell is a true enemy of the people and he should be put in the minority role status in 2018 and defeated in 2020.
