I was struck earlier in the week when one of the organizations I was a member of was calling for assistance to help Dreamers file paperwork and pay their fees to stay in the country. While that is an important and essential goal as it is unconscionable for our government to make war on children, I think all Progressive Organizations should make it a priority goal for our nations policies to forever help all our children in need be it policies like a free public education, expansion of Children's Health Insurance, expansion of School breakfast and lunch programs, and increase in Social Security benefits for orphans. One of the measures of how great a nation we are is how we treat those most vulnerable; our elderly, our sick, our young, and those in need. We should never lose sight of that.
