The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has released a new ad, called "They Said it Themselves," attacking leading Republicans like How's Boca Ted Cruz, Enabling former Vice President Mike Pence, and Enemy of the People Mitch McConnell for their positions on the Supreme Court overturn of Roe v Wade.
The ad, which shows pictures of the current leading members of the former Party of Lincoln Hall of Shame (including Donald Trump, Lyndsey Graham, Rick Scott, and Ron DeSantis,) skillfully shows the viewer what would happen if the Republicans regained control of Congress after the November elections.
Broadcasting the graphic "Republicans Celebrate Overturning Roe v Wade," the ad shows:
- Senator Ted Cruz saying the Supreme Court decision was "a moment of incredible celebration."
- Former Vice President and possible 2024 Presidential Contender Mike Pence telling Politico that "we must not rest until abortion is outlawed in every state."
- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell telling The Hill that a national abortion ban "is possible."
The ad concludes with a note of optimism with the narrator saying that while "50 years of women's rights were stripped away by the few...we are the many. We will fight for freedom and we will not be silenced."
The ad is a very good one that should appeal to a good cross-section of the population, especially suburbia.
One hopes future ads may be a little more biting, like for example: "Republican candidate/leader is okay with a ten year having to carry her rapist's child."
With the recent tragedy of the little ten-year-old Ohio girl that had to go to Indiana to get an abortion because her state's law forbade her, it would not be a stretch for the DNC or other Democratic-Progressive organizations to produce those 30-second segments.
