No sense of history or common sense

First, Sean Spicer said Hitler was not as bad as Assad because he did not use gas on his victims.

Now, President Trump openly says why did the American Civil War Occur and ponders what might have been if Andrew Jackson had intervened to stop it (forgetting the fact that he had been dead for 16 years prior to the first shots fired at Fort Sumter).

These public servants need to be better versed in the history if they are going to guide us forward in an informed manner.

The President and his party also need a dose of common sense.  A person should not open the door in an interview with a major network about being surveilled by the previous administration and then get evasive when the reporter actually acts for proof in follow-up questions.

Furthermore, the Republican leaders in the House are committing folly by pushing their moderate members to vote on a repeal and replace Obamacare bill that (despite what the President contends) hurts people who have pre-existing conditions. Who would have thought that Obamacare is now more popular than the President? The majority of the people did not vote for this cruel version of repeal and replace in the last election.  In fact, the majority (or plurality) did not vote for the President or Congress as a whole as gerrymandering and the electoral college yielded results contrary to the wishes of the majority. The Republicans need to get some common sense and see that this bill hurts more people than it helps.
