Over the weekend, the President tweeted his support for the protestors in Boston speaking out against Bigotry and Racism. That is a good first step in restoring trust between him and the American People. Three other steps the President can take are:
1) Having counter terrorism efforts focus on all avenues of possible terrorist attacks and not just Muslim ones.
2) Restore grants for organizations that educate people on the perils of white supremacy.
3) Do not pardon former Maricopa County (in Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio for his contempt of court conviction for not following a judges order on how to enforce immigration law.
These steps will show the American People that the President is serious about going after all fringe groups, treating everyone equally before the law, and not showing favoritism to loyalists who have disobeyed the law and gone to extreme measures.
