Senator Jeff Flake, in acting out the title of his book Conscience of a Conservative (I guess the Goldwater Family did not have a copyright on the title), outlined all that is wrong in Trump World and then promptly announced he was not running for reelection in 2018. This can be a prime pickup opportunity for Democrats as Kyrsten Sinema has already started to run for the Democratic Nomination for that seat. Arizona is not a deep red state like Alabama and a properly run campaign, especially against right wing candidates like Kelli Ward can yield a Democratic upset. We should encourage Trump to be Trump so other Republicans decide to retire or not run. Progressives and Democrats should not lose sight of these opportunities.
