Progressives do not despair, the Emperor proved he has no clothes and the House is more in play than ever

Progressives do not despair. Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats accomplished several things with the weekend shutdown.

1) THE EMPEROR PROVED HE HAS NO CLOTHES. WHERE WAS THE GREAT DEAL MAKER? WHERE WAS THE PRESIDENT AND HIS "HE ALONE CAN FIX IT" PERSONA? IN FOUR WORDS, HE DOES NOT EXIST. SCHUMER, PELOSI, AND THE DEMOCRATS SHOWED HIM FOR THE FRAUD HE IS.

2) C.H.I.P. is funded for six years. While not a permanent renewal, innocent children are saved from Republican posturing and leverage.

3) In getting Supreme Court thief and obstructionist in chief Mitch McConnell to promise to debate and have votes on the issue of immigration on the Senate floor,  the House becomes more in play for Democrats as the immigration hardliners in that chamber stonewall and only push more independents into the Democrats arms

Again, Progressives do not despair. It was a productive weekend.
