Another State Bill to make it harder to put propositions on the ballot: We Shall Overcome

Laurie Roberts of the Arizona Republic, as evidenced by the below and previously cited links,  has been busy with the State Legislature crafting bills that would make it harder to gather enough signatures and support to put proposition items on ballots for voters to consider like the minimum wage and funding for schools.

To people that are trying to restrict popular democracy, the people will overcome. if they increase the required signatures to 225,000, then proposition supporters will work harder and get 300,000. If they try to restrict what people gathering signatures will get paid, then organizations will find willing volunteers to do some of the work for free.

While apathy is a profound problem in a free society, people invariably rise to the occasion when they feel the underdog is getting trounced on. People will overcome.
