Democrats need to fight and beat Ed Gillesppe in Virginia and Roy Moore in Alabama

Democrats sometimes have deer in the headlight moments when running against candidates that scrape the bottom of the gutter to enliven their candidacies. The Virginia Governors Race may be one such race where Republican Ed Gillespie is using a variety of dog whistles like confederate monuments and fake ads saying there are sanctuary cities in Virginia. The Democratic Candidate, Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam may have been caught sleeping at the wheel, thinking, like Hillary Clinton, the race is over. Democrats and Progressives can not take anything for granted. They need to fight for every vote and convince the people that their cause is the right one every day until the last ballot is counted.

Democrats also need to take advantage of Roy Moore's extremist Senate Candidacy and strongly back former United States and Civil Rights Attorney Doug Jones. This is a golden opportunity Democrats can not dismiss. This is a chance for Democrats to offer a pragmatic and progressive program in a Southern state where Democrats are making advances at the local level.

Democrats should leave no stone unturned as Progressives fight to take our country back from the reactionary disease that has possessed the Republican Party. It looks like Progressives will win the Governors Mansion in New Jersey and stay in the Mayors office in New York. Would it not be nice to firmly put Virginia and yes, Alabama in the winning column.
