Freedom of the Press: Does the President know what that is?

Every United States President has probably felt the same way about the press at one time or another like President Trump. President Nixon certainly harbored resentments towards the press. President Coolidge taunted them sometimes with his overly concise (and sometimes written) statements. President Woodrow Wilson, wanting to control information, even set up his own propaganda machine to ensure his message about World War One made it to the people. The point being raised here is that neither of these Presidents were vocally consistently belligerent towards the press on the level President Trump is. This is dangerous for Democracy and our country. We will fall down the path of Turkey and Russia if we allow the President to attempt to suspend the broadcast licenses of newspapers or television channels that broadcast segments that are critical of the Administration's performance. The First Amendment has to be protected, especially from Presidents who won elections on a fluke and is not the chosen leader of a majority (and plurality) of the people. We must be on our toes and not let this happen.
