Unaccompanied Children should not be left Unattended to at ANY Border

As AZ Blue Meanie and AZ Central's Laurie Roberts have reported, the xenophobic members of the former Party of Lincoln are salivating and lying at what is happening at the Southern Border the last two months.

Strange these bigoted reactionaries never make a fuss at what is happening at the Canadian Border or other United States ports of entry.

Actually, it is not strange at all. Sadly, it is very predictable and disgusting.

Disinformation from the Trump Zone-Fox Island-Disinfowars.

Over the last couple of months, Trump Zone-Fox Island-Disinfowar Residents have made numerous false statements about the influx of illegal migrants from Mexico and Central America.

These include:

  • Terrorists are crossing into the United States. Nope. Intelligence sources say that is not happening. What is terrifying is this big lie is coming from "Republican" House leaders like Trumpist sycophant Kevin McCarthy.
  • The influx of unaccompanied minors started with the Biden/Harris Administration. Wrong again. It started about a year ago in the Trump/Pence Administration although the numbers have picked up with the new White House occupants.
  • Illegal immigrants are receiving American Rescue Plan $1400 cash payments. Unless they somehow received a social security number, that is not happening either. Dependents of these illegal immigrants who do have social security numbers (you know, the ones that are United States citizens) are.
  • The Biden/Harris Administration is releasing illegal immigrant sex offenders onto the street. Not happening either. These people remain in custody.
  • The Biden/Harris Administration is letting hundreds of illegal immigrants with COVID 19 onto the street. This one is spearheaded by Texas Governor Greg I do not know how to handle a winter storm and let us reopen Texas during COVID Abbott. That is greatly exaggerated as well.

The only accurate assertion has been, despite President Biden and his team repeatedly telling people in Central America and Mexico not to illegally enter the United States (the President did it again yesterday in an interview with George Stephanopoulos) is that there has been a surge in attempts to illegally enter the country.

Duh.

What should people have expected after four years of White Nationalist fecal matter and repressive immigration policies coming from the former Aspiring Duce-Chief Executive Demagogue now living at Mara Largo?

Of course, people, many of them desperate and conned by disreputable immigration smugglers like the Coyotes, are coming to the border hoping for the more humane treatment from the Biden/Harris Administration despite the President's pleas that they did not come.

Is it any wonder that there would be a surge at the beginning of a new Administration that has pledged to make a more humane immigration policy.

That the Biden/Harris Administration may not have fully planned for the influx is a fair point to debate.

However, people should remember however that the previous Administration had done its best to decimate the immigration system and was not cooperative at all levels during the Presidential Transition.

They should also remember that the new Administration has only been in office less than two months.

It should also be stressed that adult illegal aliens and families attempting to cross into the United States illegally are being mostly turned away.

Again, they are being mostly turned away.

Unaccompanied Children Should Not be Turned Away

Several thousand unaccompanied children have entered the United States over the last several months, dating back to the Trump Administration.

The Biden/Harris team is right not to turn away unaccompanied children.

What would it say about a government if it decided not to accept these poor innocents?

The children can not be left to fend for themselves. They are better in United States protective custody rather than in the clutches of disreputable immigration gangs.

Because of the increase in numbers since the start of the Biden/Harris Administration and the decimated immigration system left by the Trump/Pence team, the new Government is working frantically to process the children, find relatives in the United States that they could live with, and properly vet third party guardians.

It may not be a crisis. It is definitely an emergency.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said:

"...The last administration left us a dismantled and unworkable system. And like any other problem, we are going to do everything we can to solve it.

So our focus here is on solutions. Big issues here are expediting what's happening at the border. None of these border patrol facilities are made for children. And we want to move them as quickly as possible into shelters and then into homes. FEMA-- this was an announcement over the weekend-- is now providing support at the border, adding extra capacity to HHS for quick processing to avoid overcrowding. We hope this will help quickly get children into HHS and ORR facilities and placed with vetted sponsors and families. President's very focused on expediting what's happening at the border at every step in the process.

So we recognize this is a problem. We're focused on addressing it. That's just five steps we're taking. And we're continuing to evaluate what additional steps can be taken to address the situation at the border."

Unfortunately, while the Biden/Harris Administration is handling the migrant children situation more appropriately than the Trump one, even they recognize that more needs to be done to improve their condition and more quickly if possible.

People should give the Administration time to make the situation right and disregard the rantings of lying reactionaries and zealous immigration groups (and their champions in government) that are only making the situation worse.

When helpless children are concerned, no stone should be left unturned.

Unaccompanied Children should not be left unattended to at any Border.

Shame on those who think they should.
