We need political reform

This has been mentioned in previous posts on this blog but after reading the recent Naomi Klein book titled No is Not Enough, the necessity of reforming our political system becomes increasingly important every day. We need to pass new laws and constitutional amendments with regards to

1) Term Limits for local, state, and federal office holders if none already exist.
2) Campaign Finance Reform that sets limits on amounts, restricts the contributions of corporate entities, and outlaws legalized bribery.
3) Office Holders holding assets that could affect their votes or stances when governing.
4) Term Limits on political and consulting staff.
5) Creating a wall between lobbyists and staff/office holders.
6) Public Financing of Political Campaigns
7) A Balanced Budget Amendment with line-item veto power for the President.

If measures like these are not considered and adopted, partisan divide and gridlock will continue and we will go the way of other great political entities in History that destroyed itself from within.
