The Biden/Harris COVID 19 Team Briefs the Public on the COVID 19 Pandemic and Vaccination Progress

The Biden/Harris COVID 19 White House Team, in sharp contrast to the previous Administration in its last six months, has started briefing the public on a regular basis on the status of the Coronavirus and the steps the Administration is taking to combat the Pandemic including progress on vaccinations.

What makes these briefings far superior to those in the Trump Administration is the current President is not sucking up the oxygen in the briefing room and spouting counterproductive notions to the American People about taking bleach or the virus is going away.

In the Biden/Harris White House COVID Team Briefings, it is only the specialists that are delivering information to the American People based on science and the latest data.

Attendees at the first two White House COVID 19 Briefings have been:

"Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force Chair, Andy Slavitt, Senior Advisor to the White House COVID-19 Response Team; and Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," and Jeffrey Zients, the White House COVID 19 Coordinator.

Some of the announcements/takeaways from the first two briefings are:

  • States will receive an average 16 percent increase in vaccination supply starting next week.
  • The Biden/Harris Administration has purchased $200 million in new vaccine dosages.
  • FEMA has increased its presence in state, local, and tribal areas.
  • More vaccinators from pools of previously retired physicians, nurses, and EMT's have been authorized.
  • OSHA has issued new safety standards to protect all workers, including those on the front line.
  • Updating the public on the new virus mutations like the ones that have come from the United Kingdom, Brazil, and South Africa and what to do to combat it.

Newly elected Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy commented on the White House Briefings by stating:

“This is the most pressing and immediate issue to be addressed at all levels of government. We all must do our part to educate the public on the importance of getting vaccinated and I am looking forward to the day when everyone who wants a vaccine can get the vaccine.”

The White House COVID 19 Team has announced that it plans to conduct public briefings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the foreseeable future.

That is a very welcome change for the American People who, like Mayor Deasy said, need to be properly educated on the seriousness of this pandemic and the necessity of receiving a vaccine.
