On January 26, 2021, Forty-Five "Republican" Senators showed they were on the side of the Trumpist Domestic Terrorist Insurrectionists when they voted to dismiss the coming Impeachment Trial of Donald Trump, claiming the proceedings would be unconstitutional.
There are close to 200 noted legal scholars who penned a letter saying it is.
Citing the historical precedent of the 1876 Impeachment and Conviction of Secretary of War William Belknap, these scholars wrote:
"Precedent also buttresses our conclusion that Congress may try, convict, and disqualify former officers: Congress has done it in the past. In 1876, Secretary of War William Belknap tried to avoid impeachment and its consequences by resigning minutes before the House voted on his impeachment. The House impeached him anyway, and the Senate concluded that it had the power to try, convict, and disqualify former officers. Even in cases when impeachment proceedings were dismissed after the subject resigned, Congress has indicated that it was choosing to drop the case rather than being compelled to do so by the Constitution. Belknap was not a president, but there is no reason why the same rule would not apply to presidents—after all, the Constitution’s impeachment provisions apply to presidents, vice presidents, and civil officers alike."
These 45 individuals who voted to dismiss the impeachment charge against Donald Trump have shown they are nothing more than a group of Quisling Collaborators: a group of either spineless cowards afraid of Trump sicking the domestic terrorists on them or ambitious scheming opportunists looking to benefit by aligning with the members of the Trump Zone and its leadership.
Vidkun Quisling was a Norweigan who betrayed his country when the Nazis invaded Norway in 1940, securing a position leading a Pro-Nazi Collaborinist and repressive regime.
His name is synonymous with treason and collaboration. The term Quisling is bestowed on any person who has betrayed his or her country.
What are these 45 Republican Senators if not Quislings?
They are willing to betray the Constitution and the Republic by siding with the person who incited the domestic terrorists to launch an insurrection and storm the National Capitol, ransack the Senate floor, break into their offices, and go after their leaders including the then Vice President of the United States.
How is this not treason?
How is this not collaboration?
Voters need to show these 45 Quislings that they should have no role in government by trying, if their state allows, to recall them. If that is not possible, the people should vote these traitors out if they choose to run again when their reelection cycle arrives in either 2022, 2024, and 2026.
This country needs two pro-Democratic-Republic political party's.
Right now, it only has one, the Democrats.
The Republicans who voted to proceed with the Impeachment trial (Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, and Pat Toomey) need to start the process of creating another pro-Democratic-Republic Party because the Party of Lincoln, with so many Quislings in its ranks, is no more.
