In its eagerness to build a "great great" wall and increase the defense budget, the Trump Administration feels it is prudent to cut from other agencies that help prevent illegal immigration and possible terrorism. These include the coast guard, airport security, and railway security. They are also proposing cutbacks to F.E.M.A., the organization that handles emergencies like tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and blizzards. This is a shrewd move considering a substantial portion of the Presidents' base live in hurricane, tornado, and with fracking, earthquake zones. Maybe the next Democrat will win with more of the popular vote next time. Leaders in Congress need to wake up, smell reality, and embrace common sense good governance.
