Why tax carbon to reduce pollution when there is another positive way that most levers of local, state, and federal government are already employing. Increase opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to receive increased tax credits or rebates for purchasing items that depend on renewable energy like an electric or hybrid car, solar panels for ones house or business, or developing water and wind power facilities that are cleaner and can be used again and again. Increasing these tax incentives will accelerate the unstoppable rush to make our planet cleaner and more livable.
