A very interesting article from former Obama/Biden Economic Advisor Jared Bernstein who discusses a program to provide a stipend for children in this country in order to reduce child poverty. This along with other ideas covered in the article; an increase in the Earned Income Tax Credit, a higher federal minimum wage, and infrastructure programs (not the handout to corporate interests that the President is considering) are the beginnings of a "emerging Democratic agenda" that focuses on progressive growth policies that expand the middle class and elevate the lower ones. There are other ideas to consider like Green technology, medical insurance, a funded IRA for people since birth, and education (both K-12 and post secondary. However, these ideas are a good sign that the Democrats are not just going to focus on an Anti Trump message.
